What to Expect on a Guided Trip
A guided trip with Xicanx Fly is more than just a day of fishing—it’s a hands-on learning experience designed to grow your skills and deepen your appreciation for the water. Your day will be fully customized to your experience level and goals, covering everything from casting techniques and fly selection to understanding trout behavior and reading water effectively. Expect plenty of one-on-one instruction, engaging conversations about the natural history and ecology of the area, and a focus on ethical angling practices. Whether wading easy-access pristine spring creeks or exploring rugged bluff country, you’ll leave with newfound confidence and a deeper connection to the Driftless.
Half Day Guided Trip (4 hours)

$350 for 1 Person ($100 for every additional angler; max 3 anglers)

Iowa Fishing License (required)

Trout Stamp is needed in order to pursue trout in any capacity in Iowa.

Waders (necessary for Winter/Spring seasons; contact me for rental options if needed)

Polarized Sunglasses (not necessary, but advisable)

Cancellation Policy
72 hours (3 days) advance notice is required for booking (if this time requirement poses a problem, contact me) $100 nonrefundable deposit required at time of booking, with a debit/credit card to hold confirmation. Cancellations are accepted up until 24 hours before the trip. After that, 50% of the trip cost will be charged. No shows will be charged full booking price. Versatility is my game, but on occasion, weather may present hazardous conditions surrounding a trip; the guide will make the defining decision keeping safety and value of experience at the forefront. On the rare occasion that a trip is postponed or cancelled, the original trip deposit will be fully refunded, or can be used to hold a future date.
